2021 was a great year for anime fans around the world, as it featured the release of countless new anime series. Many of these series were adaptations of popular manga or light novels. Manga readers have been patiently waiting for their favorite series to be adapted into anime, and some have been able to see their favorite series get an adaptation.

While there were certainly a lot of new anime shows, some of the older series also returned with a new season, allowing them to continue the story or wrap up the series. Each anime is unique and worthy in its own way, but certain series have gained more popularity in the anime community. As the year is over, lets  take a look at the best anime series of 2021.

1. Odd Taxi

Odd Taxi follows the story of Odokawa, a taxi driver. Odokawa's backstory is quite sad. He was abandoned by his parents when he was just a child attending elementary school and this led to him being a very lonely persom as an adult.

Odokawa's life takes a drastic turn when he discovers about a missing schoolgirl. However, Odokawa is not the only one looking for the girl and soon the yakuza and the police begin to chase him.

2. Ranking of Kings

The show is about a prince named Bojji, who is deaf and mute. He dreams of becoming the greatest king, but it is not an easy task for him. In addition to Bojji's inability to speak and hear, he is also extremely naïve and cannot wield a sword.. As a result, not only his servants, but also the public consider him completely unfit to be king.
But when Bojji finds his first friend, Cage, this fateful meeting ignites a small spark of courage and their lives soon take a dramatic turn.
